# 7s2d — seven-two offsuit

**Fold from every position when the pot is unopened.** 7s2d ranks 165 of the 169 distinct starting hands
(top 92.5%). Against one random hand it wins
31.73% of showdowns and takes 34.58% of the pot.

## What this hand is

Seven-two offsuit. Before any board card is dealt its odds are identical to
7c2d, 7c2h, 7c2s, 7d2c, 7d2h, 7d2s, 7h2c, 7h2d, 7h2s, 7s2c, 7s2h — suits are interchangeable pre-flop, so all
12 combinations in class 72o share the numbers below.
That stops being true the moment the board has suits, which is what the paid
record covers.

## Equity against random opponents

| Opponents | Win % | Tie % | Pot equity % |
| --------- | ----- | ----- | ------------ |
| 1 | 31.73 | 5.71 | 34.58 |
| 2 | 18.94 | 3.47 | 20.45 |
| 3 | 13.04 | 2.77 | 14.24 |
| 4 | 9.66 | 2.48 | 10.74 |
| 5 | 7.61 | 2.21 | 8.57 |
| 6 | 6.27 | 2.05 | 7.17 |
| 7 | 5.33 | 1.94 | 6.17 |

Monte Carlo, 400,000 trials per row, seed 1 —
same seed, same digits. "Pot equity" counts outright wins plus a share of split
pots, which is the number to compare against pot odds.

## Head-to-head, exact

Against the opponent's whole hand class, not one chosen pair of cards: every
combination of it you do not block, each enumerated over all 1,712,304
boards. No sampling. "Combos" is how many were averaged.

| Against | Hero pot equity % | Hero win % | Split % | Combos |
| ------- | ----------------- | ---------- | ------- | ------ |
| AA | 11.80 | 11.59 | 0.42 | 6 |
| KK | 12.10 | 11.88 | 0.43 | 6 |
| QQ | 11.65 | 11.44 | 0.43 | 6 |
| JJ | 11.79 | 11.56 | 0.45 | 6 |
| TT | 11.58 | 11.32 | 0.52 | 6 |
| 77 | 6.48 | 4.17 | 4.62 | 3 |
| 22 | 32.59 | 30.55 | 4.09 | 3 |
| AKs | 30.89 | 30.63 | 0.52 | 4 |
| AKo | 32.43 | 32.19 | 0.49 | 12 |
| AQs | 30.48 | 30.22 | 0.52 | 4 |
| JTs | 29.12 | 28.52 | 1.20 | 4 |
| 76s | 36.29 | 19.54 | 33.50 | 3 |

Averaging matters here. Against a single representative the answer shifts with
the suits — J♣T♣ takes 17.77% against Q♣Q♦ but 18.89% against Q♠Q♦, because the
shared club both blocks a flush and removes cards. Averaged over the class the
figure is the same whichever suits you hold, which is what makes it quotable.

## What this page cannot tell you

Pre-flop equity is not a strategy. It ignores stack depth, bet sizing, and how
your opponents actually play. The verdict above is a conventional opening chart,
not solver output. Equity against a random hand is also not equity against a
range: an opponent who raises has better than random cards, and this page does
not model that.
