# AsQc — ace-queen offsuit

**Open-raise from every position.** AsQc ranks 14 of the 169 distinct starting hands
(top 6.0%). Against one random hand it wins
63.49% of showdowns and takes 64.41% of the pot.

## What this hand is

Ace-queen offsuit. Before any board card is dealt its odds are identical to
AcQd, AcQh, AcQs, AdQc, AdQh, AdQs, AhQc, AhQd, AhQs, AsQd, AsQh — suits are interchangeable pre-flop, so all
12 combinations in class AQo share the numbers below.
That stops being true the moment the board has suits, which is what the paid
record covers.

## Equity against random opponents

| Opponents | Win % | Tie % | Pot equity % |
| --------- | ----- | ----- | ------------ |
| 1 | 63.49 | 1.84 | 64.41 |
| 2 | 45.61 | 2.27 | 46.67 |
| 3 | 35.80 | 2.30 | 36.85 |
| 4 | 29.40 | 2.40 | 30.49 |
| 5 | 24.84 | 2.37 | 25.91 |
| 6 | 21.40 | 2.32 | 22.45 |
| 7 | 18.67 | 2.35 | 19.73 |

Monte Carlo, 400,000 trials per row, seed 1 —
same seed, same digits. "Pot equity" counts outright wins plus a share of split
pots, which is the number to compare against pot odds.

## Head-to-head, exact

Against the opponent's whole hand class, not one chosen pair of cards: every
combination of it you do not block, each enumerated over all 1,712,304
boards. No sampling. "Combos" is how many were averaged.

| Against | Hero pot equity % | Hero win % | Split % | Combos |
| ------- | ----------------- | ---------- | ------- | ------ |
| AA | 7.26 | 6.61 | 1.30 | 3 |
| KK | 28.21 | 28.00 | 0.42 | 6 |
| QQ | 30.30 | 29.65 | 1.30 | 3 |
| JJ | 43.08 | 42.88 | 0.40 | 6 |
| TT | 43.05 | 42.86 | 0.38 | 6 |
| 77 | 45.47 | 45.28 | 0.38 | 6 |
| 22 | 47.70 | 47.40 | 0.60 | 6 |
| AKs | 24.55 | 22.33 | 4.44 | 3 |
| AKo | 25.61 | 23.27 | 4.67 | 9 |
| AQs | 47.51 | 2.17 | 90.67 | 2 |
| JTs | 59.73 | 59.50 | 0.46 | 4 |
| 76s | 58.84 | 58.63 | 0.42 | 4 |

Averaging matters here. Against a single representative the answer shifts with
the suits — J♣T♣ takes 17.77% against Q♣Q♦ but 18.89% against Q♠Q♦, because the
shared club both blocks a flush and removes cards. Averaged over the class the
figure is the same whichever suits you hold, which is what makes it quotable.

## What this page cannot tell you

Pre-flop equity is not a strategy. It ignores stack depth, bet sizing, and how
your opponents actually play. The verdict above is a conventional opening chart,
not solver output. Equity against a random hand is also not equity against a
range: an opponent who raises has better than random cards, and this page does
not model that.
