# Jc2d — jack-two offsuit

**Fold from every position when the pot is unopened.** Jc2d ranks 121 of the 169 distinct starting hands
(top 70.1%). Against one random hand it wins
42.01% of showdowns and takes 44.32% of the pot.

## What this hand is

Jack-two offsuit. Before any board card is dealt its odds are identical to
Jc2h, Jc2s, Jd2c, Jd2h, Jd2s, Jh2c, Jh2d, Jh2s, Js2c, Js2d, Js2h — suits are interchangeable pre-flop, so all
12 combinations in class J2o share the numbers below.
That stops being true the moment the board has suits, which is what the paid
record covers.

## Equity against random opponents

| Opponents | Win % | Tie % | Pot equity % |
| --------- | ----- | ----- | ------------ |
| 1 | 42.01 | 4.60 | 44.32 |
| 2 | 24.68 | 3.79 | 26.42 |
| 3 | 17.10 | 3.20 | 18.54 |
| 4 | 12.80 | 2.92 | 14.11 |
| 5 | 10.19 | 2.69 | 11.39 |
| 6 | 8.40 | 2.57 | 9.55 |
| 7 | 7.06 | 2.46 | 8.15 |

Monte Carlo, 400,000 trials per row, seed 1 —
same seed, same digits. "Pot equity" counts outright wins plus a share of split
pots, which is the number to compare against pot odds.

## Head-to-head, exact

Against the opponent's whole hand class, not one chosen pair of cards: every
combination of it you do not block, each enumerated over all 1,712,304
boards. No sampling. "Combos" is how many were averaged.

| Against | Hero pot equity % | Hero win % | Split % | Combos |
| ------- | ----------------- | ---------- | ------- | ------ |
| AA | 11.58 | 11.35 | 0.44 | 6 |
| KK | 11.58 | 11.35 | 0.46 | 6 |
| QQ | 11.29 | 11.06 | 0.45 | 6 |
| JJ | 5.95 | 4.62 | 2.66 | 3 |
| TT | 26.86 | 26.62 | 0.48 | 6 |
| 77 | 28.86 | 28.49 | 0.74 | 6 |
| 22 | 33.24 | 31.80 | 2.89 | 3 |
| AKs | 30.05 | 29.78 | 0.55 | 4 |
| AKo | 31.50 | 31.24 | 0.52 | 12 |
| AQs | 29.76 | 29.49 | 0.54 | 4 |
| JTs | 25.67 | 20.28 | 10.77 | 3 |
| 76s | 51.29 | 50.60 | 1.37 | 4 |

Averaging matters here. Against a single representative the answer shifts with
the suits — J♣T♣ takes 17.77% against Q♣Q♦ but 18.89% against Q♠Q♦, because the
shared club both blocks a flush and removes cards. Averaged over the class the
figure is the same whichever suits you hold, which is what makes it quotable.

## What this page cannot tell you

Pre-flop equity is not a strategy. It ignores stack depth, bet sizing, and how
your opponents actually play. The verdict above is a conventional opening chart,
not solver output. Equity against a random hand is also not equity against a
range: an opponent who raises has better than random cards, and this page does
not model that.
