Privacy
PoketPoker has no accounts, no sign-up, no cookies and no analytics service. There is nothing to log in to, so there is no profile of you to build. This page describes the small amount that is collected, and why.
There are no cookies
The site sets no cookies at all, which is why you have never been asked to accept any. It does use your browser’s local storage, which is a different thing: local storage stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. It holds your light or dark theme choice, your saved practice game so you can resume it, your recent hands list, and the playing-style statistics the practice-game opponents use to read you. Clearing your browser data for this site removes all of it, and the practice game has its own “forget me” button.
What is collected
Two things, both anonymous:
- Counts of what gets used. When you open the practice game, ask the coach a question or share a hand, the site records that the event happened — a name from a fixed list, and nothing else. No identifier, no session, no way to join two events into a visit. It exists so the site can tell which features are worth improving.
-
Error reports. If something breaks, the error message and the part of the
code it came from are recorded, so it can be fixed. The address of the page is included
with the part after the
#removed — that fragment is where hands are stored, so removing it means the cards you were looking at are never sent.
Neither carries a name, an account, a cookie, an advertising identifier, or anything that would let one visit be recognised as the same person as another. There is no analytics product behind it and no data is sold, shared or used for advertising. The reports go to the site’s own server logs and nowhere else.
What is never collected
The cards you enter, the hands you play, your results, and anything you type stay in your browser — with the single exception below. The odds engine runs entirely on your device; no calculation is sent anywhere to be performed.
The exception: the AI features
The coach, the rules referee and the “describe a hand” box are the one place text leaves your browser. What you type is sent to this site’s own server, which passes it to OpenRouter, which routes it to the model that answers. That is the only way a language model can reply. Nothing identifying you is attached, and the exchange is not stored by this site beyond the ordinary server logs — but the request does reach those companies, so please don’t type anything private into it.
Server logs
Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages see the network address your request came from, which is unavoidable in how the internet works. Those logs are used to run and secure the site. They are held in the operator’s own hosting account and are not combined with anything else or shared.
Who else is involved
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and content delivery for the site.
- Cloudflare — the domain name records and email forwarding.
- OpenRouter and the model provider behind it — only for the AI features described above.
There are no other third parties: no advertising, no trackers, no embedded widgets.
Your rights
Because nothing collected identifies you, there is generally no personal data held about you to access, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, or want to ask anything about this, write to admin@poketpoker.com and it will be answered.
Changes
If what is collected ever changes, this page changes with it. It is the description of record, and the site’s own answers about privacy are kept in step with it.
