Why the number looks like that
The hand people most like to play against aces, and the numbers say why: seven-eight suited makes straights in both directions and a flush in one suit the aces do not share, so it is the strongest unpaired hand below broadway against an overpair. It is still a clear underdog — the point is that it is less of one than a bigger, unconnected hand would be.
