Why the number looks like that
The best starting hand against the worst — the question everyone asks once. Seven-deuce cannot make a straight using both cards, its two pair needs both to hit, and it holds no flush chance, so it is about as far behind as two live cards can be. Still not zero: about one board in eight rescues it, which is exactly why "any two cards" is not quite a joke.
